The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas, stretcher and attachments are in generally good condition. With a muslin backing covering the reverse, presumably the painting is signed and dated on the reverse. All elements appear to be present and adhere well to the underlying support. There are some surface irregularities in places, coherent with the artist's working process. There are stretcher marks visible in places. There are some pinpoint sized brown accretions in places. There are some handling marks in places. There is some soft staining in places. There are a very few faint abrasions in places. Examination under ultraviolet light shows no indication of inpainting. It is our opinion that the work is in good condition.
