The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments are in generally good condition. The canvas is slack to the stretcher. There are canvas draws in the upper corners. There are craquelures in places. There is a circular impact craquelure in the lower right corner. There are stretcher craquelures in places along the extreme edges. There are some linear abrasions in the lower area. There are some drip marks visible in the lower area. There is a discolouring in the lower left and in the lower right corner. There are handling marks, paint losses and other defects to the frame. Examination under ultraviolet light shows no indication of inpainting. It is our opinion that the work is in good condition.
