The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas, stretcher and attachments are in generally good condition. The work is structurally sound. All elements appear to be present and adhere well to the underlying support. The canvas is slightly wavy. There is some soft surface dust and dirt in places. There are stretcher marks with some associated minor paint losses along the edges. There are some losses to impasto tips. There is a craquelure of circa 21cm. along the left vertical edge. There is a feather craquelure of circa 21cm. along the centre right vertical edge. There are craquelures to the thick black impasto. There are craquelures in places. There are some minute paint losses in places. Examination under ultraviolet light shows no indication of inpainting.
