The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The artwork shows minor and only tiny damages in the white paint layer combined with some hair fine cracks, most of them probably caused by mechanical impact.
The white surface shows some dust and grime with some glossy areas along the edges and sides; furthermore there are locally some brown spots (left side).
Except hair fine cracks due to mechanical impact, rackling is present in several areas, especially in the depth of the structure due to natural drying and aging of the white paint layer. It is a very common phenomenon seen in Schoonhoven’s reliefs. The paint layer is stable.
There are no former restoration campaigns visible or detected.
