The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
(i) The work is structurally sound. There is an indent in the upper left quadrant. There is an abrasion in the upper right quadrant. There is some wear to the extreme edges and corners, with an associated minor paint loss in lower left corner. There is some soft staining in places. Examination under ultraviolet light shows no indication of inpainting. It is our opinion that the work is in good condition. (ii) The work is structurally sound. There is some wear to the extreme edges and corners, with a few associated paint losses in places. There is some soft staining in places. There are faint abrasions in places. In natural light the extreme edges and corners seem painted in, however when examination under ultraviolet light these areas do not fluoresces in a manner consistent with inpainting. It is our opinion that the work is in good condition.
