Lot Essay

One lot in Kunstverein’s benefit auction features all six "Pool" publications by Nora Turato. Turato was involved in Kunstverein's Hannah Weiner and Rammellzee exhibition in 2015, SPF'16, and she created her first-ever scarf for Kunstverein's Merch March series in 2018. The "Pools" included in this lot consist of texts sourced from the internet, media headlines, advertisements, conversations, books, commercial products, and Turato's own thoughts. These elements are assembled and arranged without a discernible logic or narrative structure, forming a continuous script that Turato memorizes and performs. The publications were designed in collaboration with Kunstverein's board member, Sabo Day. The lot comprises the very rare and hard-to-find first "Pool," as well as the latest edition, which is not readily available through traditional book channels. All wrapped up in a pink bow.
