Lot Essay
“I think the earth is a dot, the moon is a dot, the sun is a dot, and the earth is only a dot among the countless planets in the universe. Polka dots are a way to infinity. When we obliterate nature and our bodies with polka dots, we become part of the unity of our environment. I become part of the eternal, and we obliterate ourselves in Love. ” – Yayoi Kusama

It is in our opinion that the work is in good condition. The canvas is taut and the paint layer is stable. The work was inspected inside the frame. Sides of the work cannot be checked due to the tape fixed onto the sides. Slightly abraded extreme margins and corners. A few lines of faint abrasions on the left and lower right. Pinpoint dot of white accretion on lower left. Visible only upon close inspection, hairline cracks on the middle and along the turning edges of the work. When inspected under ultraviolet light, no apparent retouching shows.
