Fusain et graphite (recto); graphite (verso) sur papier. Le revers de la feuille est maintenu par des charnières à deux endroits sur le bord supérieur. Légère décoloration de la feuille, principalement le long des bords. La feuille est légèrement insolée associée à des piqûres par endroits. La feuille provient d'un carnet à dessins comme en témoigne le bord gauche irrégulier associé à trois petis manques de papier. Au verso, une légère tache associée à des points de saleté vers le centre du bord supérieur. Une ligne verticale d’abrasion de surface (uniquement visible à la lumière rasante), vers la partie droite de la composition. Le fusain et le graphite sont vifs sur l’ensemble de la composition. Sous réserve de ce qui précède et selon notre opinion, cette œuvre apparait en bonne condition générale.

Charcoal and graphite (recto); graphite (verso) on paper. The reverse of the sheet is hinged to the mount in two places at the upper edge. Some pale discoloration of the sheet, mainly along the edges. Some light staining with associated spots of foxing in places. The sheet stems from the artist's sketchbook, as visible from the uneven left edge with three associated small paper losses. On the reverse, a pale stain with associated spots of accretions towards the center of the upper edge. A vertical line of surface abrasion (only visible under raking light), towards the right part of the composition. The charcoal and pencil are strong throughout. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that this work appears to be in generally good condition.
