Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
L'opera è in condizioni buone e stabili.
The work is in good and stable conditions. The leather is fixed to the panel through nails; the gold leaf is fixed to the leather through a metallic wire. The possible irregularities are coherent with the artist's working method. Superficial accretion in places and small holes on the leather due to some old nails. The gold leaf shows a fold and a tear (0.5 cm.) along the left edge. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally very good conditions.
