Impiego molto tempo prima di decidere se sono pronta a scattare fotografie. Lavoro per qualche mese continuamente e poi non lo faccio più per sei mesi, per esempio. Mentre non sto realizzando fotografie penso a quello che voglio fare; quando sono pronta a ricominciare ho già raccolto una serie di props, di oggetti da scenografia. Se cammino lungo la strada e vedo qualcosa di interessante in un negozio lo compro senza ben sapere a cosa mi potrà servire. Ho già raccolto un buon numero di oggetti da scenografia, parrucche, costumi e così via, ma oggi sono più interessato ad altro, per esempio a trovare strani giocattoli per bambini… Di recente non penso tanto a foto con personaggi. Credo di aver bisogno di ancor più distanza dall'opera. Mi annoio all'idea di usare sempre me stessa, è difficile continuare a inventare personaggi!

I take a long time before I decide whether I'm ready to take photographs. I work for a few months continuously and then I don't for six months, for example. While I'm not making photographs I think about what I want to do; by the time I'm ready to start again I've already collected a number of props, scenography objects. If I walk down the street and see something interesting in a store I buy it without really knowing what I'll need it for. I've already collected a good number of props, wigs, costumes and so on, but nowadays I'm more interested in other things, for example finding strange children's toys... Recently I've not been thinking much about pictures with characters. I think I need even more distance from the artwork. I get bored with the idea of using myself all the time, it's hard to keep inventing characters!
