Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
L'opera è in condizioni buone e stabili.
The work is in good and stable condition. The package is hinged to the canvas through strings passing through four eyelets. The wrapping paper shows some drippings in places. A tear with two corresponding small holes to the lower left external edge and other two minor tears corresponding to the upper corners and lower left one. The sealing wax to the centre of the left external edge does not adhere to the paper, where a small tear is visible. Stretcher marks are visible along the canvas edges. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is no indication of inpainting. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
