The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In good condition overall.
With the inevitable knocks, marks, losses, scratches and shrinkage cracks, consistent with age and use.
The gilded edges and borders rubbed overall and revealing red bole layer beneath. Some minor chipping to the decoration.
The backboards and edges with evidence of historic, but apparently inactive woodworm.
The border plates all heavily tarnished and with losses to silvering, in places deliberately so. The top right hand plate with loss revealing bare timber beneath.
Some cracking to the plates, particularly to the top left hand corner.
Otherwise highly decorative, structurally secure and ready to hang.
