Lot Essay

The Trinity Lavra Monastery of St. Sergii is situated 75 kilometers to the northeast of Moscow and is the highest rank of Orthodox monastery, one of only four in Russia. It comprises a complex of medieval buildings named after St. Sergii of Radonezh, a 14th century monk from Rostov.
