The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In fairly good condition overall.
With the inevitable knocks, marks, losses, scratches and shrinkage cracks, consistent with age and use.
As stated, the base associated but with earlier elements i.e. the tracery.
Eagles reattached to their metal feet historically.
Two talons missing to one foot to one eagle, one central talon to the other bird.
Denting and scuffing to the peripheral carving.
Shrinkage to the bodies of the eagles.
Repairs to the construction of the eagles.
The base with more extensive, historic but inactive woodworm, with associated timber losses.
Central column with repairs and restorations.
Previously with further attachment to top of column, now lacking - probably a candle holder.
Otherwise structurally secure and highly decorative.
