The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
There is a crack running from the upper rim, above one handle, which curves down and above the central grotesque mask and through the inscribed label (this is approximately 30 cm. long in total). There are two 4 cm. sections of chipping to the footrim and the centre of the foot has been drilled and a large area filled with plaster. One mask handle terminal has chipping and sections lost to the mask horns, the other has a section of loss to one mask horn but this appears to have occurred at the time of manufacture, as there is glaze to both end sections. There are patches of glaze loss throughout but particularly to the mask handle terminals and the handles themselves.
Overall there is some typical glaze loss, surface scratching minor abrasions and occasional minute chip.
