Loose as issued within printed blue wrappers (some spotting to wrappers); housed in publisher’s vellum-backed black cloth chemise and slipcase (light rubbing and staining). Provenance: Sotheby's, Paris, 15 May 2012, lot 113.

A finely-illustrated limited edition of Alain-Fournier’s literary classic, containing 53 original gouache illustrations by Jean-Pierre Rémon. This is no. XXXI of 40 hors commerce copies reserved for the artist, editor and their collaborators, from a total edition of 200.
