Autograph letter signed (‘B. Pasternak’) to Frau Schirmbeck, n.p., 20 November 1959
In German. One page, 200 x 263mm. Envelope.

Thanking Schirmbeck for sending several books, assuring her that he looks forward to reading them shortly. Opening the letter, Pasternak confirms that he has received the books sent by his correspondent. He expects them to be ‘interesting and compelling’. Thanking Schirmbeck for sending them, he notes that he will first send them to an acquaintance to read and asks Schirmbeck not to attach his name to the books until he has had a chance to read them himself. Concluding, Pasternak notes that he did not want to delay his response as it may be some time until he can read the books.
