22 folders of assorted documents containing c.200 original letters, with a number of retained copies. Also containing ephemera such as a copy of Henriques’s birth certificate, printed material relating to the Palestine pavilion at the ‘British Empire Exhibition’, photographs from visits to Brazil, and scientific papers on irrigation. The archive of the British civil engineer and prominent Zionist, Cyril Quixano Henriques. The letters concern a variety of topics: in the 1930s, primarily the Zionist Executive and the Jewish Agency; later, mostly regarding property in Israel. Other topics include finance, agriculture, engineering – e.g. the destruction of dams along the Nile and the consequences for Israel – and the trial of Adolf Eichmann.
