Folio (321 x 236mm). Engraved title and 30 further pages of engraved music. Disbound. [With:] stipple-engraved portrait of Haydn (sheet size 46 x 115mm), c.19th-century. Provenance: Christie’s New York, 19 December 1986, lot 138.

First edition, signed by the composer, of a collection of English songs issued during Haydn’s celebrated second trip to London. The collection is dedicated to salonnière and poet Anne Hunter (1742-1821), who is chiefly remembered for writing the texts to at least nine of Haydn's 14 English songs.
