The artwork is an oil painting on a medium wove linen canvas which has been lined to an auxiliary linen canvas with and stretched onto a stable four-member stretcher. The canvas lining support is in stable condition, and the verso bears the writing: "View from Brooklyn Bridge No. 1, Ernest Fiene, 1927". The oil based ground and paint layers are in good and stable condition. Ultraviolet examination reveals a fluorescence of careful in-painting covering small scattered losses and abrasions. The painting is clean and in good condition.
