The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This report was prepared by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.:
This work on canvasboard is slightly uneven. There is a bubble at the top of the man’s head where the canvas is not properly adhered to the board. In addition, the lower left seems to have exhibited some instability, and there is some restoration here. This does not read clearly under ultraviolet light. It is slightly difficult to ascertain the exact condition, but the face, the feather and the hair seem to be in good condition. It seems that the background and lower center have received some damage.
