The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This report was prepared by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.:
Approximately 1 inch of the bottom right corner of this double sided work was lost and has been recreated. In the composition of the bathers at Coney Island, it can be seen under ultraviolet light that there are several very small restorations throughout the sky and one half-inch circular restoration in the arm of the centrally located woman. There are minor retouches to the three other corners as well.
In the composition of the burlesque show, it can be seen under ultraviolet light that all four corners have restorations and the top right corner has been replaced. The larger of these restorations are visible to the naked eye. There is a stray vertical green line in the burlesque scene in some signage on the wall immediately to the right of the female dancer. This line was tested and cannot be safely removed; it certainly is old if not original.
