Hayfield (Conway Meadow, New Hampshire)

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This work has not been recently restored. The canvas is lined with wax. The paint layer is still stable. While the wax lining should eventually be reversed, the work can also be hung as is. Under ultraviolet light, one can see that there are a few dots in the middle distance of the landscape in the center and in the left. There is one structural repair in the lower left, measuring about 3 inches by 1 inch. In the sky, there are numerous small and accurately applied dots, particularly concentrated in the upper center. These retouches have discolored over time.
