The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This report was prepared by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.:
This work is in excellent condition. The canvas may have never been removed from its original stretcher. The painting is probably clean. Under ultraviolet light, one can see a few retouches in the base of the green bowl. There are small retouches in the extreme upper right and left corners, but there do not appear to be any other retouches. Some drying cracks are visible in the body of the vase, but these are not unstable. The finish is slightly uneven, and the work may have never been varnished. There is a small hole in the upper left of the hanging fabric, which could easily be repaired. The work should otherwise be hung in its current state.
