The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This report was prepared by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.:
This work is in good condition. It is unlined and on its original stretcher. The paint layer has cracked slightly, but it is stable nonetheless. Most of Luks’ original color reads quite strongly under ultraviolet light. The only retouches are in the pink wall behind the heads of the figures, a couple of spots again in the same pink color closer to the upper left edge, in the distant figures in the center of the left side, and two or three dots in the grey street beneath the standing figures in the center. There are also a few small retouches to some scratches in the paint layer in the woman with a curved back on the right. Most of these retouches are probably cosmetic. Nonetheless the picture looks well and should be hung it is current state.
