The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This work on panel is in very good condition. The panel is flat, and the paint layer is stable. It is quite dirty. Under ultraviolet light, one can see that there are possibly old retouches above and to the right of the carrots in the upper left, in the upper right of the background and to the immediate left of the figure’s arm. These retouches are presumably quite broad. Although retouches are presumably required, it is doubtful that they address any significant issue.
