This work is lined with a non-wax adhesive. The painting is clean, retouched and varnished. Retouches are clearly visible under ultraviolet light in a few spots in the waves on the far right. Three restorations have been applied in the bottom of the rocks on the right side, two of which seem to address a break in the canvas measuring about 5 inches and a small puncture. There are a couple of restorations on the bottom edge towards the left corner. There are a few retouches in the horizon on the left side. There are three small retouches in the rocks in the center of the picture. There are a few spots in the upper left and upper center of the sky, and some of the darker clouds in the upper left have received a few retouches. The condition is respectable overall. The signature in the lower right reads darkly under ultraviolet light, but this is period to the artist and is not a later addition.
