This report was prepared by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.:
The work has an old lining and is on its original stretcher. The surface is attractive. The work is clean, varnished and accurately retouched. Under ultraviolet light, one can see retouching in a few spots in the top and down the right side of the sky, in a line in the valley about 4 inches from the bottom edge in the center left, in a few spots in the ridge beyond the tall pine trees on the right, and in a loss measuring 1 ¼ inches in the mountain in the center. There are a few other tiny dots, but most of the color in the landscape that reads strongly under ultraviolet light is not restoration. The work looks well and should be hung as is.
