The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This work is in beautiful condition. The canvas is unlined and well-stretched. The paint layer may be slightly dirty, but not disturbingly so. There is a small spot on the canvas on the reverse addressing a dent in the hand of the figure holding the whip. Otherwise, the painting is perfect and requires no further attention. It should be hung as is.
