The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Lined. The tacking edges are covered with tape. Minor frame abrasion along the extreme edges and a few vertical lines of discoloration along the upper edge. Surface cracking. Under ultraviolet light, inpainting along the extreme edges, a few small areas scattered in the water and a spot in the sail of the ship at left. Other spots, dots and lines of inpainting scattered in the sky. Uneven, discolored varnish.
