The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Generally in good order; some scattered small rim chips; some light surface wear and rubbing; wear to the gilding and the gilt bamboo faded/worn on some pieces; some small imperfections in the making including dark kiln specks and some firing grit to the undersides; further condition issues and sizes noted below:
A pair of soup tureens, covers and stands, 145⁄8 in. wide (the stands)-- Good condition; one stand with two chips to the underside of the rim; the gilding on the scroll finials quite rubbed.
A pair of entrée dishes, 141⁄2 in. wide (each)-- Missing their covers; some fritting to the ridge where the covers would have sat; one with a large chip to the underside of the rim.
A pair of very large platters, 161⁄4 in. wide-- One broken in two and now repaired; the other with several chips.
A pair of platters, 141⁄2 in. wide-- One with a restored rim chip at 11 o'clock; the other in good order.
A pair of platters, 127⁄8 in. wide-- Both with a few very small rim chips, otherwise in good order.
Four platters, 111⁄2 in. wide-- Some small rim chips, generally in good order.
A pair of small platters, 101⁄4 in. wide-- Some small rim chips, generally in good order.
Eleven soup plates, 81⁄4 in. diameter-- Scattered rim chips, many of the chips restored, the old overpaint now yellowed; kiln specking to the back of many plates; one plate with a crescent-shaped rim repair and an overpainted hairline rim crack.
Twenty-two plates, 81⁄2 in. diameter (each)-- Scattered rim chips, many of the chips restored, the old overpaint now yellowed; kiln specking to the back of many plates
