The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The mirror plate later, with the typical tiny losses to the silvering scattered throughout, its surface with the typical scattered light scratches, commensurate with handling. The mirror plate not unmounted for inspection.
The frame in the distressed 'stripped-gilt' technique with the deliberate rubbing and gilt loss to the surface. The typical scattered chips, losses to carving and gilt surfaces revealing gesso, bole and bare wood in areas as to be expected with age. The pagoda reattached, some overpaint visible over the repairs crossing its two columns and flanking C-scrolls. Some minor separation and associated narrow gaps in the gilding over some joints or possibly well-executed repairs, including a few small repairs to the foliage at the lower right side, but overall in stable condition.
Good overall presentation, wired and ready to hang.
