The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
173⁄4 in. (45.1 cm.) high, the slightly shorter jar
Each with some intrinsic imperfections, in the making, including some large firing lines encircling the interior of the slightly shorter jar, and a few firing cracks to the underside of the slightly taller jar. Some light scratches and wear to the surfaces, consistent with age and handling.
The slightly shorter jar with a short vertical chip at the rim, part restuck, issuing a crack down the most of side, curving to the left into a J-shape and continuing around approx. 1/4 of the circumference near the base; the outside edge of the foot with several shallow chips around it, the largest approx. 3⁄4 in. long; much of the surface with a milky-white haze, more prominent to the lower half.
The slightly taller vase with fritting all around its rim, as well as a larger chip (approx. 1 in. across) at the interior of the rim, and a faintly stained hairline (approx. 21⁄2 in. long) down from the rim; two faint star cracks to the side, mainly only visible from the interior; the underside previously drilled and later repaired with plaster fill, the drill-hole issuing a hairline to each side, spanning the diameter of the foot.
