The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
With the typical minor imperfections, in the making, including scattered tiny kiln specks throughout and some overfiring to the underside of the rim of one cover; scattered minor scratches, rubbing and wear to the surfaces, consistent with age and handling; some fritting and flakes to the glaze, mainly around the edges and rims; one vase and one cover each previously in several pieces and repaired, the repairs to the cover including four old 'staples'; the other vase repaired at its neck, which was previously also in several pieces, and to a break at its foot; the other cover with its finial reattached.
