The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall in decorative condition, structurally sound and ready to place. With typical scattered light nicks, faint marks, minor surface scuffs and scratches. With some visible joins and mild separation in some areas, but stable. With scattered small restorations, well concealed by the decoration. The decoration refreshed in areas with some overpainting; with scattered cracking, minor lifting and flaking to the paint, revealing bare wood in some areas. Some of the painted decoration rubbed and with some losses, including to the rosettess, but present very well overall. With possible traces of an earlier decorative scheme underneath. The outer edges and corners with some further minor scuffs and abrasions to the raised decoration. Please note that due to the upholstery, the seat rails were not able to be thoroughly examined underneath.
One example: repaired break to the cresting; repaired break to the proper left arm where it meets the back, the same arm with a small chipped loss to the outer edge of the arm; with visible joins on the proper right arm; some separation of the arms from the uprights/terminals; crack to the back of the chair on the middle left-hand side, and repair to proper right back leg.
The other example: repair to the proper left arm where it meets the upright/terminal and with some glue residue/overpainting; with visible joins throughout; possibly a repair to the bottom of the stretcher on the back; old break to the cresting.
