The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

With general overall marks, nicks, surface scratches, tiny losses and repairs consistent with age and use. Overall with minor areas of losses and signs of infill and restorations. Some lifting and small replaced areas to the ebony stringing, as well as a few sections of loss to the stringing at the lower edge of the top. As stated in the cataloguing, the bail handles are replaced. The inset leather with the typical scratches and impressions throughout, consistent with use.

The top of the pedestal base reinforced and the underside of the drum top adjusted to fit properly, commensurate with age.

The base also with some further and larger repairs to the veneers, with some associated infill. A few repairs to the stepped rings beneath the turn mechanism atop the base. A minor age crack to one flange of the tripartite base, well disguised. The underside of the base mounted with two modern bolts, from apparent recent stabilizing.
