In overall good condition, structurally sound and ready to place. With the typical scattered light nicks, marks, small dents and faint scratches, consistent with age and use. Some minor but slightly more prominent wear or typical repairs to the expected locations, including the corners of the separate sections where they meet, and the connecting flanges and cavities where the sections lock together. Most or all of the swiveling supports beneath these areas, and all of the insertible metal clips for joining the sections, have been replaced. The subframe possibly altered at three rails, possibly in response to earlier worm damage. The brass feet with light oxidation and tarnish, as is consistent with age. The top attractively figured, and any reduction in size very well executed.
Additional measurements and information about each component enumerated below:
The end-pedestal marked ‘1X’-- 321⁄4 in. wide; repairs to the lowest section of the stem and to the foot of one of the legs, some associated infill slightly discolored, the leg now reinforced with a metal brace to its underside; a triangular section reattached at the underside of the top, a thin line of associated infill (approx. 71⁄4 in. long) perceptible from above; the box containing the tilt-top mechanism at the underside with a fairly prominent section of old inactive woodworm damage.
The central pedestal, marked ‘2X’-- 36 in. wide; one foot repaired and stabilized with a few modern screws at its underside; the opposite foot also repaired, its brass caster mounted at the underside with a longer flange to stabilize the repair; the subframe at one end stabilized with a later screw into the table underside; an apparent split to the base of the column, but structurally stable.
The end-pedestal marked ‘3X’-- 321⁄4 in. wide; two legs have been reattached, the metal plate beneath the stem lacking, a metal brace in its place extending partway down one leg; the base of the column with a few vertical cracks, possibly associated with the repairs, but stable; a split to the underside repaired with some infill, a metal brace screwed in place to stabilize the repair, some associated infill also visible at the top, to a narrow triangular section (approx. 61⁄4 in. long) and a few very small associated apparent splits.
The two additional leaves-- each 23.1⁄2 in. wide
