The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Not examined out of frames. Overall good color retention. The needlework in good, stable condition. The grounds with some discoloration, losses, re-stitching and patching. All re-backed, some more recently than others. The frames generally with some chips, abrasions and losses. Please note that Christie's does not guarantee the condition of frames. 1) 69 in. high, 171⁄4 in. wide, framed: Some minor holes and re-stitched areas; one re-stitched slit between the handle and the fruiting bucket.
2) 67 in. high, 171⁄4 in. wide, framed: The partridge is partially re-laid on a later backing, as visible in illustration.
3) 633⁄4 in. high, 171⁄4 in. wide, framed (with the parrot): The top approx. 5 in. where the cartouche has been re-laid on later backing, as visible in illustration. Most visible discoloration to the ground.
4) 633⁄4 in. high, 171⁄4 in. wide, framed (with the partridge)
5) 591⁄4 in. high, 17 in. wide, framed: An old, but not fresh re-stitched area to the ground above the blue-and-white jar
