Christopher Reeve was an actor, director, producer, author and activist. He is best known for his role as the titular comic book superhero in the Superman motion pictures of the late 1970s and 1980s. In 1995, following an equestrian accident, Reeve became a quadriplegic and lobbied the rest of his life for those with spinal cord injuries and for stem cell research.
