“Studio 54 is the best thing that’s happened to New York City. All the scandals help business because there’s no publicity like bad publicity. If you don’t believe me, come and take a look at my scrapbooks. I think it’s harder to get out of Studio 54 than to get in. Time stops there and space takes over.” (A. Warhol, Exposures, London, 1979, p. 53)

Warhol began producing prints based on tickets and receipts in 1967. He created prints based on Studio 54 complimentary drink tickets in 1978 as holiday gifts for his friends.
