The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In overall very good condition, almost all with the typical kiln imperfections in the making, including an even craquelure, tiny glaze bubbles and minor fritting to the edges; many with small, shallow chips to the edges, typical of ceramic tiling after deinstallation, the most prominent chip measuring 15mm along the edge of the tile and 6mm into its surface; one tile previously in pieces and restored; all with slight paint or old grout residue to the sides and reverses, not affecting the painted motifs; light scratches and minor scuffs throughout, commensurate with age and handling; the marks on the reverse reading ARCHITECTURAL POTTERY CO. / POOLE . DORSET.
