The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The blades and tines overall with some minor scuffs and scratches as well as wear to the gilding consistent with age, use, and storage, the agate handles with slight variance in thickness and length throughout, the agate with some natural veining and inclusions, some 'nibbling' and nicks to the edges, some handles with a clear lacquer coating, now lifting and flaking in places, three knife handles with repaired breaks to the agate, one knife with some tiny splits and losses to the mount where it meets the stone handle, some fork tines not perfectly straight and even and some wear to the ends of the tines.
