Please note antique textiles exhibit wear, losses, soiling and tears from normal use and repurposing. Some elements are re-pieced together with complimentary or contemporaneous textiles to mend.

This impressive kesi cover with strong pigments and fine weaving. The cover is padded and lined with a complementary yellow cotton backing. There are scattered small pinholes and tears throughout. One larger crescent shaped tear near corner of inner border (3¹⁄₄ in. long approx.). Areas of pulling and separation to the silk, in particular to the gold metallic thread inner border. Light soiling and discoloration, some rose and salmon pigments are slightly faded. Overall a beautiful example of an early textile.
