Enameled in the Kangxi famille verte style, the lower portion with lappets outlined in black against a green-ground of scrolling peony vine below a cell-pattern flower-head border with shaped cartouches of scholar's objects, the middle section painted iron-red with a scroll ground of lotus vine, the upper portion with similar black-bordered lappets enclosing a dotted ground with butterflies and various flowers, with apocraphyl four-character Kangxi reign mark
