The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Please note antique textiles exhibit wear, losses, soiling and tears from normal use and repurposing. Some elements are re-pieced together with complimentary or contemporaneous textiles to mend.
The three elements likely part of a lady's dress, there are irregular shapes and cuts to the elements. There are elements that are pieced, particularly to the top edge and with curved hems at the bottom. Light soiling overall; there are some areas that are faded, possibly from sun exposure. Minor fraying to the silk and metallic threads, more apparent wear and abrasions to the silk at the seams and to the top edges.

Christie’s strongly suggests viewing this lot in person. You may wish to contact a professional textile conservator with any additional questions as we are unable to provide in-depth condition analysis.
