Overall condition with light surface scratches and minor wear commensurate with age and gentle use. The wood surfaces in good condition with minor wear and nicks as to be expected. The proper right side of the front of the clock with minor separation to the wood grain that has been filled with putty at some point in the history of the piece, not visually distracting. The metal surfaces with minor wear, abrasions, and scattered areas of light oxidation typical with aging of this material. The metal frame surrounding the enamel plaque along the front of the clock with a minor bend along the top and bottom. The enameled face of the clock marked Chas. Frodsham 115 New Bond St. London. No. 20397. With a minor V-shaped crack between the 4 and the 5 with a consequential minute (less than 1⁄8 in.) loss near the 4. Another hairline extends inwards between the 6 and 7 (approximately 3⁄4 in.), only visible upon close inspection. And another short line extends from the 3 o'clock hour. With French movements and a Brocot escapement placed between English plates. With one replaced clock key. Please note the timepiece is presently not in working condition, but this may be addressed with the attention of a professional conservator. Please contact the department for further details.
