Three-Light 'Moorish' Chandelier, circa 1905

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall good condition commensurate with age and gentle use. The three glass shades present with a pale yellow ground and richly iridized surface and delicate pulled feather decoration along the sides when unlit. While illuminated, they present with a warm amber glow. The glass presents with surface irregularities, minute inclusions, and scattered air bubbles inherent in the making. The glass with light surface scratches, minor wear, and dirt to recessed areas. With minute edge chips to the upper rim where the metal hardware rests, not visible when set in place. The shades with metal crowns, each with modern reproduction hooks. With nine reproduction chains. The central metal fixture presents with a black brown patina. The canopy appears to be original. The filigree 'fins' appear slightly loose in their setting, yet stable. The chandelier appears to be lacking a finial along the central element. The metal surfaces with light scratches, minor wear, abrasions, and scattered areas of light oxidation typical with aging of this material. The patina appears to have been sensitively touched up at some point in the history of the piece. With some scattered beige paint residue. With period sockets, one with internal components replaced,
