The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall good condition with light surface scratches and minor wear commensurate with age and gentle use. The 'Turtle-Back' tiles present with yellow-green and amber tones while illuminated. When unlit, the tiles present with a richly iridized surface and a yellow green ground. The 'Turtle-Back' tiles are plated along the inside with white glass. These tiles may have been replaced at some point in the history of the piece. One white plated tile with a crack along the horizontal plane that has been previously restored. The glass presents with minute inclusions and surface irregularities inherent in the making. The base with a warm brown patina and some green overtones. The metal surfaces with scratches, minor wear to the patina, minor abrasions, and scattered areas of light oxidation, typical with aging of this material. The screws along the side of the shade tight, leaving the shade smoothly adjustable. The square nut on the inside of the shade, the socket, and the cord outlet are modern replacements. Presents well and ready for display.
