The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall condition commensurate with age and gentle use. The 'Turtle-Back Tile' shades present with a warm amber glow. Two shades appear more white than the others which appear more yellow when unlit. The glass with minute inclusions, surface irregularities, and scattered air bubbles inherent in the making. With light surface scratches and minor wear commensurate with age and gentle use. One white shade with a crack to a tile on the central pane (approximately 3⁄8 in.). The other white shade with a crack to a tile on the side pane (approximately 1⁄2 in.). One yellow shade with three tiles along the central pane with cracks, one tile cracked twice (largest approximately 3⁄4 in.). The other yellow shade with three tiles along the central panel with cracks (largest approximately 1 in.). Each of the shades bent slightly different with consequential difficulty when fitting on the bases. The metal fixtures with a gilt finish, one appearing with a warmer, brassy gold finish. The metal surfaces with minor wear, abrasions, and scattered areas of light oxidation. The metal fixture with this warmer gold finish with sockets that appear to be original with GE Co. paddle switches. The other metal fixture with a gas fitting and lacking a wall canopy, with replaced period sockets. The finial on top of the gas fitting with wear and a minor loss to the tip.
