The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Please note antique textiles exhibit wear, losses, soiling and tears from normal use and repurposing. Some elements are re-pieced together with complimentary or contemporaneous textiles to mend.

The cope is lacking its hood. There are some pieced elements, in particular to the long edges. Scattered patch repairs throughout. There are some small tears to the silk along the silver and cream bands. Some light fraying to the metallic threads and some minor fraying to the polychrome silk threads. The lining with soiling throughout, some small holes and tears.
